About Us

Herman and Jeffrey Brodsky Growing up during the Depression and World War II, company founder, Herman Brodsky (1922-2004), developed a strong work ethic motivated in part by necessity and in part by inherent high moral standards. Working as a tool and die maker in an electrical parts factory, Herman's astute business acumen motivated him to save his wages with the lofty ambition of acquiring a business. By age 20, he achieved his goal. After successfully maximizing his manufacturing business, Herman ventured into real estate development. Through extensive research of the Detroit tri-county area and a unique vision of the anticipated growth of the region, Herman acquired classic properties capable of maintaining their long-term value and desirability.

In the early 1980's, Herman's son, Jeffrey, joined the business. As a University of Michigan Business School (1978) and Wayne State University Law School (1981) graduate, Jeffrey brought yet another skill set to the business. Jeffrey began his career at Brodsky Realty as general counsel and property manager, enabling him to understand the business from both an owner and operations view. While working at Brodsky Realty, Jeffrey completed course work for his builder's license and also became certified in refrigeration.

With the benefit of Herman's tutelage, Jeffrey has further promoted his father's vision and ethics in an effort to maintain the high standards Herman has always promoted in every aspect of his business. Brodsky Realty has extended its presence into the office, commercial, industrial and retail markets, capitalizing on the tremendous opportunities that continue to exist in properties strategically located along the I-696 and I-96 corridors.

With its headquarters in Huntington Woods, MI, Brodsky Realty has been an annual sponsor of the Woodward Dream Cruise since its inception and continues to be an active supporter of community causes.
